Uncle Aron's Eldest Daughter

Assalamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah

Urm, I am not so much close to them. I used to live in Jitra in Kedah state once my father was offered a job as a press secretary of the Kedah Chief Minister, Mr. Osman 'Aroff. My mother loves to visit her niece who also lives in the town at that time. She was married at that time with this guy from Perak. Her father is my mother's elder brother. My mother only has one brother and his name is Aron (Arabic; Harūn). Uncle Aron lives in Tabligh center in Beseri, Perlis together with his wife and his son, Joseph (Arabic; Yusūf). This cousin sister's mother has the origin from Thailand. That suggests the fact that they look, Chinese.

My maternal cousin is the one with the purdah (veil). The guy is her husband and from the right are their children. I do not know their name. I do not introduce myself to younger people except if I feel that if they are "special" kind of people. I introduced myself to brother Idris Xian and brother Yunus Huang because I feel that they are special kind of people, haha.

These cousins are all Tabligh-i-Jama'at members which begins with my maternal uncle, Aron. Uncle Aron tried to "convert" me several times into the movement but my father refused to give me to him. As to say, I have history with Tabligh members so I am not so much having no knowledge about the movement. I just do not tell people when people do not ask but sometimes people treat us like we know nothing. I do not have to join any movements. My paternal family already is in the lineage of mission circles. They became "out-castes" because they failed to maintain unity with the larger clan. And they are Arabs with Indian mothers, the same as those in pre-independent India and Pakistan. The difference with the Penang Indian Muslims is that we are of North Indian maternal stocks and they are the Southerners. North India is identical to Āryā Vartta, the abode of the ancient Indo-Persians.

Lately, I heard the fuss that they had conducted a trip from the UK to Malaysia here. To tell the truth, I do not really care on whatever that they do. They had been living in the UK since 15 years or maybe longer than that. Before, her husband studied in Japan. They look so... Mongoloid like the Jacky Chan's face Hazara refugees who speak Persian in Quetta except that they are Sunni Muslims, hahaha... I am closer to my paternal side more than to my maternal side. I mean in term of customs and heritage. In amity term, I am so much individual.

They came twice to visit my mother and of course my bed-ridden father. Relates their past in this country. I do not really pay the attention because I have my own problem to deal with so yeah I do not care whether they traveled in Southern Russia, Central Asian countries, China or Indochina, haha... Anyway, good luck for them. That is all that I could say.

Favorite Nephews

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah

Diary

Suddenly stumbled at nephews social network side, hahaha. I have few close nephews last time especially of mother side. But after the death of grandparents we become not close anymore. I wonder what happened to them so I just used sister's social network account to trace them. One of my favorite nephew last time was Shafiq. They still live in Kodiang noh. I don't really like his dad which is my cousin. It's not because I am a bad ass or I hate to socialize with my own relatives but I found that his dad is a cocky manner less guy.

He offended me by low-estimating my dad's job and my dad was the breadwinner of the family. I don't care what political ideology he is or how Islamic he is but we don't show our faith to people. It is between us and the God. I don't care if people are calling me an infidel because I don't go to the front line to show off being a prayer imam during taraweekh in the village or looking like an ungodly guy who knows nothing about religious knowledge. That is their mouth, they have no right over the God's judgement. I don't talk much, once I sense something I would just leave people behind.

Last time when I was in standard three I remember that he was so naughty but also lovely in characteristic. We use to play together just main cara budak-budak kecil wrestling, chasing each other, spending times chatting, watch TV and etc. I don't have any problem with Shafiq but I am afraid time and what had happened deteriorating our relationship. Until few years before grandparents passed away he also followed us back home to stay over during holiday just to fill his time but each time his dad would came by maybe to avoid him from mingling with children of his lowly auntie.

He looks a little like his dad, hahaha... Anyway I am proud of you for the tradition of the family could be exercised by grandsons and granddaughters. I thought of getting your picture from your social side but I think it is ok because I would need to ask your permission and I would be noticed by other relatives. I am proud to know you are a student who bears Quranic verses. I wish you could further your studies in Medinah as you or your dad wish and may Allah makes your document easily being processed. Hope your dad try to ponder on himself and think a lot about himself too. When we think a lot about ourselves we would know how evil we are. It does not matter if we are orang kampung or orang bandar. We are all the same human-being the lowly creature of Allah 'Azza wa Jalla. That is what I feel everyday.

Other than that, his cousin was also my favorite nephew, Fawwaz. He was my colleague in al-'Alawiyyah in Arau for a while before I was shifted to Selangor. We are the same age although he is my nephew because my mum is the youngest daughter of grandparents and their grandma is the eldest. Nobody knows what I had experienced while being a student there not even schoolmates. I had problem with his dad too because his dad is the elder brother of the cousin who is Shafiq's dad. He scolded me and my second sister and humiliating us in front others during the tahlil ceremony while we went out to buy stuffs for guests and other relatives. He just came by and scolding people out of no where. He thinks that it is fun to have our close relatives died especially in front of our eyes? I cried like hell when my beloved grandma passed away in the third Shawwal of 2004 and I can't eat for few days. I was close with her too and I only talked about my problems when I was schooled in Perlis to her not to other relatives. Few days before she passed away, she crawled to my lap as if she's trying to tell me something.

I don't think I have the courage to see relatives anymore. Furthermore like most of cousins always calling me, I am just a useless guy. Yes I am... I am nothing as compared to the Majestic Lord and they should also realize that they are nothing in His view! Last time Fawwaz came few times at our house but I just act coldly because I am afraid of past problem with his parents (my cousins) though he is innocent. If I get the job after graduating perhaps I would just shut myself from relatives but I would try to keep connections with brothers and sisters in faith around me. I hate social network sides....

Now, it's hard right to make friend even with relatives and it also applies to people who embrace a certain religion because brothers and sisters in faith are relatives to each other :')

Aidulfitri 1432 H Pic: Mum's Cousins

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah!

Manage to get some pics from files sent by little sister. Thanks, little sis... This pics featuring pak su Omar which is our maternal uncle. Pak su Omar is mum's cousin brother. The title pak su means little uncle because he is the youngest of his siblings. Their mothers are siblings where our grandmother is the youngest of four siblings. All of them had passed away including our beloved grandmother.

Differently to nowadays, their family bond is quite close though they're just cousins compared to younger generations. Mum told me that their mothers would travel far from north to south or either ways in order to stay up at cousins or relatives houses just to tie kinship among generations and helps everyone up before great religious celebration. When they passed away, mum tries to revive it but I don't feel comfortable with it. The same thing goes to my sisters. Now only I believe that it is important. But maybe I am not as friendly as older generation because my life had been different from them. The same thing goes to others. I prefer to be a loner. Oh yeah, mum actually is closer to her cousins compared to her own siblings. Weird isn't it, haha.

Left: cousin brother Zulhairi, mum, dad, pak su 'Omar

Left: lil sis, second sis, younger sis, me, third sis

In Yahya Halal Restaurant, Samnak Khan, Dannok Town, Southern Thai region. Left: Niang Ta which is pak su Omar's wife (they're cousins too), cousin brother Zulhairi, pak su Omar, taking the order is the restaurant owner, dad, little sis, younger sis.

Mak teh nord's family in Batu Maung, Pulau Pinang. From left front is cousin brother Sobhi, his wife and his daughter, cousin brother Sobri's wife and their second child, cousin sister Wani, cousin brother Deen wife 'Ashiqeen and son, cousin brother Sabri. From left behind: Pak Teh Mun (mak teh Nord's husband), pak teh Mun's mother, mak teh Nord, cousin brother Muhammad Adi, cousin brother Deen and his daughter.

Pak su Omar is the younger brother of mak teh Nord. They have other three siblings. One of them, Niang Rogiah had passed away last two years and followed by her husband in the next two months, Yazid. May the God be merciful to their souls. Both of them are good, tolerant and peaceful people. I don't have any pics of their children but I hope to keep them in this site as for me to remember them in prayers and services also to keep me track to relatives. Rogiah, Khalid, Nord, Che Nah and Omar are maternal cousins of mum. Their mother, Hasnah is a sister of my beloved grandmother, Seehah. Grandmother has four siblings whom are Mahdzoum, Zakariyya, Hasnah, and Seehah which is her. Mahdzoum is dad's mother. That makes mum and dad both cousins of mother side.  All of these generations had passed away.

Pak su Omar and Niang Ta still has other two sons whom are Zulhilmi and Zulhaikal. Both of them live in Kuala Nerang because they do not want to move out back to Jitra. Perhaps they have many friends there and that is common. We can't easily say goodbye to friends :) I was quite close to Haikal (Zulhaikal). He was so little back then when I was nine years old living in Jitra. I feel quite embarrassed to Khairi (Zulhairi) which is their elder brother though he was the same age with me. He was an intelligent boy and quite popular among girls and boys (being his companies) when we were school pupils, hahaha. He was in different class anyway. I was not well known in schools, even my class teachers don't even recognize my face not even schoolmates, like wind.

Wish cousin brother Zulhairi, a happy marriage... selamat menempuhi kehidupan bertanggungjawab, may both of you build up a peaceful house and harmonious family, granted by the God with pious children and generations, His Will. I don't think I would be there at your marriage and I would like to apologize though you may not see it here, hahaha. Just want to avoid people asking me about marriage though I am happy to hear this good news. I think that I am still young though I do not style myself according to latest trend or fashion like other young men. It's closer to the end as what is prophesied in scriptures. I don't want my generations to suffer great destruction of yomul qiyamah. Let it end with me hopefully :)

اللهم صل على حبيبنا محمد صلى الله عليه و سلَّم وعلى أهله و صحبه اجمعين... Sealed with prayers for peace, mercy, and love, amin!
