Optional Weekly Fasting

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah

Hadith on the weekly optional fasting for my own reminder:

1. Narrated from mother 'Aishah radhiallahu 'anha: "Muhammad s.a.w always fast in weekly Monday and Thursday". (Narration of Tirmidzie, hadith chain: hassan sahih).

2. Abu Hurairah narrated that Muhammad s.a.w had mentioned: "The acts of worship will be presented to the Lord on Mondays and Thursdays. I would love my acts of worship being presented before Him while I am fasting". (Narration of Tirmidzie).

3. Abi Qatadah mentioned that Muhammad s.a.w had answered when being asked about fasting on Mondays. He answered: "That is the day where I was born. That is the day where I was appointed (with the seal of prophethood) and that is the day when Revelation descends upon me". (Narration of Muslim).

Starting this Monday I beg the Lord, please put me back on my nature. I am going to limit the consumption of the food even those prepared by Mutaslim (Islamisized) Malays or Indians especially in Penang Island. They indeed consumed filthy things but still looking at others as if they are holier. So, dear Lord please make me limit my consumption here and may it be my witness that protects me from Your torments in the hereafter. I need to also keep the lists of food which I was forbidden to take not only the food items but also how they are prepared and in what condition they were prepared.

Emad, you made me a disobedient person!!! Because I listened to your comments on how tiny I was that I tried to keep a mass and tried to eat! I am a Mawladi Hadrami, not a Palestinian. Even if people tyrannize us, we don't show to people how we defend ourselves or trying to look strong or weak. We don't lament in front of people in media like Palestinians! We only depend on our Protector and King, Allah the Most Majestic.

Another two weeks to Rajab month, among the holiest months. I am aware about the status of the hadith. It is classified as weak sometimes due to the the narrators' status of the hadith. I would be fasting in the month according to the counting of Sunnah of Monday and Thursdays. It is not obligatory! Only applies on individuals and others may choose not to perform it or to perform it as Allah promised His servants that He will never let anything for Him goes in vain. We don't spread weak hadith to people. But we don't condemn people as if we are so knowledgeable. The Real Possessor of the Knowledge is our Lord, Allah 'Azza wa Jalla. That is the morality and manner when we know something. We don't self-claim as if we are full of authority on the wisdom.

Need to buy some dates and spices from Arab stall near the masjid. I am not going to buy anything from the 7E with Malay cashiers down here especially if I see the poyo Malay guy in charge and limiting my time downstairs. Feel bored looking at people face after something happened last night.

Sealed with prayers for mercy, peace and love amin!

Evil Eyes

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah

I feel quite stressful as I have to submit many things to lecturers in a row for this week to the next week. Tomorrow I would have to sit for a mid-term test and it is Economic paper. I have no Economic studies background at all and have to read bulks of papers here. It would be fun to study because we are interested in it and not because of chasing anything. I hope nobody notice my stressful face. I don't want brothers in faith here think that I am suffering bipolar disorder because even if I am smiling and laughing I am actually crying in my heart. I am not crazy I am still sane, that is why I am praying and supplicates to Allah to help me, not leaving me alone and to protect me.

Evil Eyes

Yesterday, I suddenly remembered about our cultural belief. I don't know if this is related to religion or customs but I just call it as cultural belief. People ranging from Indian sub-continent to Middle East have the same belief regarding this. I think that I had been affected by evil eyes. It does not necessarily come from others. It could also possibly come from myself because I realized that I hate to see my own face and my room has two large mirrors besides in the toilet there is also mirror. I feel disgusted if I see my own face. Maybe it also affects me as I suddenly feel very heavy at my head and I can't easily wake up from sleep though I sleep very early even after I rolled myself down from my bed to the floor to pray. I called my friend in Johor because he has access with our people masjids (South East Asian Hadramis') there and he told me that it would take long to recover so I must avoid looking around or looking directly to any thing because I may also harm other brothers, sisters or things. Brothers and sisters please take note, evil eyes are very dangerous! It could actually kill especially if a person is meditating alone in caves because the culture of meditating is also practiced in Ancient Arabia and there were cases people kill animals like camel by just gazing at it after a long period of meditation. I will try to remove all of my own pictures in files too since I had forgotten to do that. I need to recite the supplication of Gabriel a.s to remove physical diseases and spiritual illnesses.

Protection Supplication

Supplication means: "I seek protection with the "Holy" appearance of the Lord and with His perfect words. Which nothing could exceed them whether good or evil. I seek protection from whatever thrusting into the earth and from whatever rising out from the earth. And from the evil of whatever comes down from the heavens and from whatever ascends to heavens. And from the evil of the 'test' of night and day. And from the evil of roads at night and day except the roads which are accessed with charity, dear the Most Merciful!" - al-Bukhari Narration

Curing over Sickness

Gabriel a.s recites: "With the Name of Allah, I put this cure on you (may it heals you) from anything that hurts you. And from the evil of all selves and from the eyes envious to you. Allah is the One who cures you, with the Name of Allah I put this cure on you."

Brothers and sisters may recite it in your languages if not fluent in Arabic. It is tedious to type in Arabic and I don't know how to prevent them from being copied because holy words should be respected. I wish it is useful for everyone who are also facing problems in daily life. For curing over sickness, no need water, no need touching at the hurt body part, no need any talisman. Just recite the supplication with faith in our heart to Him. I tried to translate everything into Chinese and Japanese as services for Chinese and Japanese brothers in faith protection but it is quite difficult to find suitable terms especially in Classical Chinese as I have to avoid some Taoism and Buddhism influenced words as to be very careful.

Time and Anxiety

Now I am just gobbling some chocolate that I bought from Mahasiswa shop. Hopefully sweet stuffs bring positive mind in me. Umm, I pray to the Lord to suppress the "time" and hinders it from chopping me down as elders said, the "time" is like sword. When you're not careful enough, it will cut and slaughter you down!

Says the Lord in His message to His slaves through His prophet (s.a.w):

In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate the Most Merciful

The Lord swears with the time 1 Indeed human is in the loss 2 Except the people who are faithful in his faith and performing charity and piety and reminding each other with the truth and advising each other with patience 3 - Surah al-'Asr, Indeed the Lord is the Most Trustworthy

And we try to seek His Divine intervention and Mercy with wazifas and His Glorious Holy Names...

Sealed with prayers of mercy, peace and love, amin!

Just arrived in campus... What a tiring day!

Assalaamu'alaikum wa Rahmatullah!

Just arrived in the campus yesterday evening because I have to prepare my research's first chapter to be checked by the supervisor. Praise be to God, I managed to perform obligatory salaat for mid day and afternoon prayers although through jama' n qasar way. I hope God forgives me because I did not perform proper ma'amad with dirty clothes and vessel but instead just performing ablution as the time was almost out.

Then I still can pray evening prayer in congregation in musalla desa Tekun, thankful to God again You are indeed the Most Merciful. Actually today we are already in peaceful saturday as what we call it as two holy days. We suppose to fast yesterday which is on Thursday but I am in travel so I have to be a bit flexible.

The journey with Plusliner wasn't so pleasant and I have to sit beside a girl. That's still ok, but the seat in the bus is quite limited in space so I felt numb at my feet and other parts of body. The journey becoming rather tormenting when the driver has to drive slowly due to that there are speed traps in the high way.

Long time haven't doing exercise, hehe. It makes me feel like a sick old man when being contained by the bus. Poor grandpa I used to mock him when he said that he felt sick few months before he passed away. I realize how evil I was now, God please forgive my sins. Please let my grandpa resting in peace!!!

For tomorrow's peaceful saturday I need to get some sugarless bread or dates and a little bit salt. I already have two packets of salt with me. Tomorrow I need to perform ma'amad before friday prayer and also before maghrib. A bottle of plain water. Prepare everything together with prayer books for blessings before sunset so after that I can perform maghrib prayer in peace without disturbing others if performing congregational prayer in masjid.

Now, I don't really know how to describe my feeling. When I arrived in the campus this evening, I have a weird feeling. I don't like this institution or maybe this place because I had lost my moments. Time is indeed playing it's role. Now I really have to make choice and taking the risk again and again in this uncertain period. Tomorrow, I've to get a letter at the center for graduate students to make sure that I can find the job. Then I would have to discuss this matter with my supervisor. I guess I would have to finish european language paper through external classes.

I hope our lecturer do not obligate us to attend her classes when we take the paper for politics and decision makin' again but just obligate us to answer the exam. I really need tools to perform this life. I hate to talk about money as it would be considered as thaghut (idolatries) if being needed excessively, and in the end our god would actually be the money and not Him. It is also mentioned in scriptures but what else can I do. That is the necessity now. I have no choice and I already feel ashamed to my parents for being a burden to them. I hope I am not being a polytheist again and may He forbids me from being a person attached to money nor materials.

Last few nights I already had quarrels with one of my sister concerning this matter. But as to say I never ask her to sponsor me anything. She just sponsors me when she wants me to company her for entertainment like watching her French movies where I don't really like those movies nor do I understand them.

I would not take anything from anyone if it concerns my dignity. Even when I did not have money for expenditure, I would rather fast so I may not be a burden to the world. Anyhow, I should be aware that He is testing me. I am not out of His holy view. May He forgives me, everyone around me and giving me patience to go through this tiring journey. May this nightmare never haunt me when I began to open up my eyes in the eternal world there.

When we are in difficulties we ought to remember that He is with us backing us up. The test is to make us closer to Him. When we are in easy time, we should also remember. He is also testing us whether we would be in the straight path or deviating because we tend to forget Him who sustains us. That is called as istidraaj. Already happened to humans before us like the Tsamud and the 'Aad tribes of the ancient Arab nation mentioned in the holy Quran.

Anyhow, I would like to express my gratitude to You for a safe journey where You protect me. I realize that You are protecting me, dear Lord. Help me to perform this life. Please protect my faith and creed so I would be in the right track of Yours, o You who is the Most Beneficent. I had already facing tests and tribulations in this life since I was a toddler but only now I get to realize it. I believe all of us, Your servants would be tested because this earth is the field for those who are tested. Praises be only to You forever, aamin!!!

Ma'thurat II

With the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful the Most Beneficent

Ma'athurat Supplications...

In morning, chant this supplication
O our God, we begin our morning and the evening that will come, with You our life is, and with You is our death, and we are going to be assembled together to see You!

In evening, chant this supplication dear brethren
O our God, we begin our evening and the morning that will come, with You is our life, and with You is our death, and we are going to return to You o Lord!

This supplication is the same for morning and evening
O Lord the One who arranged the heavens and earth, who Knows the hidden and the obvious He testifies, there is no One like You, glory only be to You, indeed I had been cruel to myself (before this morning or evening)!
O Lord my God, I seek Your protection from the wickedness of my self and from the wickedness of Satan and his companies and the differences (of the environemnet) that would change my self into wickedness or its influence on me that made me cease from being a Muslim.
O God, indeed I ask You for every goodness in the world and the hereafter.
O God, indeed I ask You for my deen (law of life). And (please help me manage) my worldly matter and goodness for my family member and my property (to be protected only by You).
O God, please protect me my 'awrat (anything which is hidden that could bring shame to us) and the trust of protecting my 'awrat is (on You my Lord).
O God, please protect me from between my hands. Please protect me from my back, protect me from my right, from my left, please protect me from my front side and from above me and from beneath me (prayer for protection of the evil that comes from every direction) and I seek Your protection from being harmed by my self.

Chant this in the morning
We are in this morning, and the morning in this Kingdom for You, and praise be to God, and You are all Powerful over anything!
We begin this morning with the nature of the submission to You, we begin this morning with sincere words, and on the path of our Patriarch Ibrahim (Abraham), our father, the path which is straight, I am a muslim, and I am not amongst the polytheists!

Chant this to begin our evening
We are in this evening, and the evening in this Kingdom for You, and praise be to God, and You are all Powerful over everything!
We begin this evening with the nature of the submission to You, we begin this evening with sincere words, and on the path of our Patriarch Ibrahim, our father, the path which is straight, I am a Muslim, and I am not amongst the polytheists!

In the evening, chant this supplication after the above evening supplication
O Lord our God, I sincerely beg You to grant me whatever is good from this night to come, and I seek protection from whatever is evil from this night to come!

Then chant this prayer before closing
I seek Your protection of Your perfect words from whatever evil of Your creations!
I am pleased with You as solely my Lord, and Islam as our deen (law of life), and with Muhammad (saw) as our prophet 3 x
It is enough that You as my Lord, there is no one except Him, and I depend only on Him, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne!!! 7 x

Why do we study this lesson brethren?

1. We just want to memorize and understand the ma'athurat. Everyone actually doing this after prayers or before prayers around the world.

2. Ma'athurat is an ibaadat (act of worship) that would bring us into attachment to Allah.

3. Ma'athurat is an invocation according to sunnah tradition and having the root source from scripture, no need other invocations which came from invocations without any clear roots. No need for talisman. God will protect those who never cease to remember Him!

Some of these invocations to Allah are also recorded in Imam Nawawi (may Allah be merciful to him) kitaab. I can't remember the books' title because I had just memorized them for my personal invocations whenever I am alone. But as to say, I could not only let my self stepping into salvation, I must also help other brethren.  Everyone deserves the right into salvation in this world or hereafter.

So, I am sharing this hope God won't be angry with me and does not assume me a stingy. I don't care if you could find this in other sites, but I am just performing my responsibility as a fellow Muslim in this site. Whatever good must go to my brethren, let alone bad things being destroyed by Lord of the Universe!

How to memorise ma'athurat? You may find various kind of ma'athurat but the root is still the same from Quran and authentic Sunnah tradition. Some of the kitaab may come with references at the footnotes. Usually I love to give any brother or sister this ma'athurat for their own good and also as a present. I would encourage other brothers and sisters do the same. Circulate the Quran and Sunnah to each other for practises.

How to memorize?

1. You may memorize them with your friends, choose a friend you are familiar with, I mean your close friend that you are not feeling shy with. As for me I memorized it from the text alone because last time I had lost all of my friends and many of my previous friends are not even mosque goers. I did it alone and referring to sounds and listening to imaam in the mosques that I visited.

2. Read these ma'athurat dzikr and du'as in Arabic to each other and correct each other in a polite manner.

3. Make sure you understand the meanings, I had provided the meanings. You may find the text from kitaab or leaflets from Islamic center or mosques. In case of explanation, refer to footnotes about the sources. Make sure they are only from authentic hadiths.

4. Repeat the reading for ten times each of the chantings. It's like you memorize the first chanting 10 times, then go to another chanting 10 times. Then repeat both of them 10 times.

5. Write them out in a clean paper non-stop until you can memorize, I did all of these in mosque. Never at home. Why?  Because we can't concentrate at home and many distractions. At the mosque we could also ask help from merciful brothers to help us if we have problem with the readings and writing. Write them one by one in Arabic script on the clean paper until you could imagine the words and chantings in your mind box.

6. Once you memorized the chantings, immediately practise them before or after Fajr and Maghrib prayers so that you won't forget it anymore. Burn the papers and dispose it according to what had been prescribed by ulamas in order to respect His names and words. Make this a habit to chant the ma'athurat. Even if you forget to chant it in the Fajr and Maghrib chant it when you remember about it.

I do not actually know how to instruct people because I just know about how to practise. I memorized them and implement them in life because I feel it is hard to teach people through words.  Whatever verbal I may show but prayers, I might also need to throw out my voice which I find so hard especially when people never ask me anything. I would assume they already know. But for me, I just know about this about 6 years ago through His guidance.

This site is a way to put whatever I had came accross in the form of words for sharing especially to those who are Muslims but could not reach our community. I know how you feel. Well now it is written, we may say it aloud with our voice. And then we chant it and practise it without any postponement.

It is now the period almost Resurrection, no time for long winding flowery speech but into practises. I hope everyone including my self could receive salvation in this period that we are going through.
