Every Cruelty

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah

I remember every cruelty of yours...
I have not forgotten it...
O you who forsake the promise
I am not like you at least...

You are standing on the shore...
What is your problem?
Go in some time, when I am gone...
I am drowning, but have not drowned as yet...

Silently, slowly though I have been reformed by the hands of the time.
Though I am compelled, I am not lost to the time...
That is, I still am fighting the time as much as I can...
Despite being forced with some changes.

Muztar, why does the world keep on watching me??!
I may be mad but I am not a drama for them to see!

O you who forsake the promise
I am not like you!
I remember every cruelty of yours!
I have not forgotten it!

I Have Just Returned

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah

I have just come after making eyes meet with my love.

If the women at home call me unwed, just let them be.

Do not care of what the neighborhood girls say.

My eyes just met that of my love.

A beautiful face, and an enchanting body.

His beautiful face, charming like an idol...

Yes an enchanting body, charming like an idol...

An enchanting body... Charming like an idol...

I have hidden it in the depths of my heart.

I have just made a place in the bottom of his heart.

I have just returned from...

I have just returned after seeing my love.

I have just returned after seeing my love.

Khusraw gives his whole life to you, Nijaam.

Khusraw gives his life to Nizamuddin in sacrifice.

Where am I the precious lover of his yet?

I have just had him call me his most favorite disciple.

I have just returned after seeing my love.

If the women at home call me unwed, just let them be!

Do not care what the neighborhood girls say!

I have just returned from seeing my love.

Amir Khusraw, Dehli (1253-1325)

This is a poem written by Amir Khusraw about his teacher, Khwaja Syed Muhammad Nizamuddin from the Chisti mission order. The language of course is Indian Ordu. I also listened to poetry in Arabic, Ordu or Punjabi and I know the languages. I just refused to speak in it even when being approached by Nepal's Indians (Nepalese who speak Hindi) while working at the airport and they said that they know I am a North Indian descent but why I insist on speaking in English... Since I know that they are going to play tricks with me, lol. That explains why Indians or those related to Indian sub-continent such as those affiliated to movements from India perhaps love to be close to me though I can also speak in several other oriental languages because I absorbed "environment" around... I can sing this poem in Hindawi Ordu, hehe...

Cool Book Covers

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah

I just think the covers of these litany books look nice... Maybe I can learn how to make one from parchments. I am thinking to compile the litanies that I have in my head into a little treatise and using the cloth parchments as the cover. Perhaps they could serve as tool of da'awa to others when I hand it down to other brothers... It's more sincere than buying them I guess...

Twilight Saga II: Breaking Dawn

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah

I just returned like 50 minutes ago from the theater watching the movie Breaking Dawn about the vampire thingy with a friend. Anyway he treats me with the ticket so first of all as a sign of gratitude, thank you. You shouldn't have it. I think I would love to be the first to treat people but when they treat me I feel just... Guilty and a little bit shy because it is not our right by rites or traditions...

The movie is still lingering about the characters such as the "vegetarian" Cullen family with the main hero, that British, Pattinson guy as Edward and Kirsten Stewart as Bella. In this second part of the saga, it shows briefly that Bella was transformed into a vampire by her husband, Edward. So, she could feel herself the obsession of being a white pale vampire. She also has daughter with her husband and giving birth to her when she was a human. Her name is Renesmee played by Mackenzie Foy. When Edward and Bella returned to their house, they founded that Jacob (Taylor Lautner) has an imprint on their daughter. I checked what does that mean. It means that the wolf gazed at the baby and had fallen in love with her. Then it is about the battle that nearly broken among the two sides of vampires and the werewolves because of misunderstanding. It also shows the battle scene but it is just a prophecy by Alice Cullen (Ashley Greene) that Volturi or the Chief of Vampire Council would also be killed in the battle if he still insist to kill the half-vampire little girl who is Renesmee.

There are vampires of various nationalities involved in the scene where they allied to face Volturi. Two vampires from Romania had said that they waited for 1500 years to seek revenge on Volturi. But I am not sure what was their grudge with the chief. Maybe it is like a pact of Protestant vampires who protesting the centralized Catholic orders with the help of a Coptic vampire, lol. It was a peaceful ending anyway but the chief implies that there would be future battle where they would destroy the Cullen coven in Forks.

I did not really understand the movie when I watched it because I did not watched the first saga so kind of like puzzling what the hell is happening? I did not really watch the movies because it seems like too much of feminine fantasy. But I love the way they present the movie in the beginning. How I wish I know how to make my own videos with some computer knowledge and editing skill but too bad I am not so good in technical field and also bad with computer skills. It perhaps could serve to explain about my faith and belief. Also on cultures or environment surrounding me and what makes me a S.i.R since I do not like to be interviewed or discovered by people but love to cover my face when talking, using symbolization and appear like a hapless beggar or just among "people" in front others... lol... Thank you for stumbling by this humble site. Lord bless with much love...

Ancient Civilization: Babylon and Tower of Babel

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah

Babylon and Tower of Babel

The Tower of Babel or Migdal Bavel is mentioned in the Old Testament book of Genesis. It is a lesson of human pride build based on Ziggurat model of Babylon. The immense Ziggurat completed by Nebuchadnezzar in about 590 BC. It was dismantled in 484 BC by Persian king, Xerxes after a Babylonian revolt. About 150 years later, Alexander of Macedonia cleared the ruins of the Ziggurat to rebuild it again. But it never happened. For long time, the location was lost but the outlines of huge foundations measuring 91 meters on each side could be seen.

Although the Ziggurat of Babylon was never counted as among the ancient wonders of the world but it is mentioned in Biblical stories. The construction of this tower provides the inspiration to artists of the modern days.

Some illustrations of the tower here looks more to contemporary drawings or perhaps being drawn in the middle ages Europe. Hopefully readers who stumbled by this modest site enjoy the view. Again disclaimer, these are not my pictures but of others. They are from Christian Assyrian group of friends who happened to capture the pictures.

We are just stating here through the posts that we, Muslims know who is our patriarch Abraham. In our "congregation", we were taught by our elders that our father Abraham, speaks in either Suryani (Assyrian) or Kaldani (Chaldean) language. Kaldan supposedly to be the designation of a group of astrologers but still they were in the Mesopotamian and Sumeria civilization. In our Glorious Quran, we are taught that father Abraham is not a Jew nor a Christian because these terms came later to refer to some groups of people. He is also not an Arab and our father, Ishmael was also not an Arab. He mingled with the Qahtanite branch Arabs and married to Arab woman. That is why we call his descents as Musta'ariba or the Arabized people. Not all Arabic speaking people are the descent of patriarch Ishmael. This is what non-Arabic speakers need to be aware of before being involved in racist talks.

Lord, may You rectify our errors we are Your weak servants as You are the Most Knowledgeable amongst all and no one beats You in Your Wisdom. Sealed with prayers for mercy, peace and love, amin!

Science and Religion: If Clergy Men are Wrong, Academicians are also Wrong!

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah

Problems in Terminologies and Reference Consistency

I don't know how to translate or interpret those words such as religious studies experts and non-religious studies scholars. The way I understood science is different from the mainstream views. So, basically what I refer to as clergy men are those who are known as priests, monks, ministers, preachers, pastors, imams or mullas. While academicians in this post refer to scientists or scholars in the universities as what we see today.

Pre-Conditions to be a Believer of Science

For the scholars, they religiously believe in the science, theories and opinions while they had forgotten that the condition for this science is that; theories will always evolve to another one and if it is contested by the more plausible ones, the previous one will be unreliable. Theories are bounded to time period and the changes in the space. Science and knowledge generally is a group of evidence in evaluating the truth of certain things and matters. If the study is not half-cut in the middle of the research, there are many possibilities for the previous theory to be canceled by the new-founded one till it has to be developed again in other forms.

International Theories and Approach to View World Politics and Affairs

In International Relation and Social Studies for example, the notion by this ulama about "reliability of science" in his writing is the same as what had been lectured to us in our classes for first two semesters. We have political theories such as:

1. Realism
2. Liberalism
3. Marxism
4. Constructivism

And the world is viewed as a stage where the beings in world is viewed as actors. Who are these actors? They are basically those who are involved in decision-making and the basic one that I could provide here is the state and its system. There are also classifications of those mentioned theories into classical theories, neo-theories and post-theories or approaches in viewing the action of actors. This is my personal opinion dear brothers and sisters. We as religious studies students in madrasah must be exposed to these studies. We should not only study Quran and Sunnah. Because we live in the more globalized world where there are people of many views and kind which trying to defame us, Muslims with the notion of modernism, backwardness and fanaticism.

I am talking like one of madrasah students though I am an out caste due to that I was a madrasah students myself who were kicked out of the track due to harsh environment revolving around me and rising conflicts within myself. Now I am an International Studies students majoring in European continent institutional studies without any basic in my first degree certificate. I studied different things when I was an undergraduate student. In front of people, I might be looking like a scary all-black attire hermit, poor like a beggar and "stupid" but I am listening to what people are talking around besides mentally commenting their opinions. It also includes those of Mahasiswa Islam and Tabligh Jama'at discussions and I am just avoiding them because there are gaps in discussing things with people around and I do not want any conflict.

So, there are little kids who might come closer to me in the musalla and asking me why you are so silent? Most of the Mahasiswa Islam and Tabligh Jama'at members are not of social studies background but are of diverse part of sciences in the university which actually deals with crude sciences related to job skills for human labor or human capital needs. While most of my fellow religious studies brothers in Middle East are purely studying about Quran, religious sciences and Sunnah. I don't know how many people are experiencing things like me. If you have this experience please share or just paste your blogs in the comment box down here. I am listening, pondering and reading everything. This is my part as per Tabligh notion for "Fikir Ummat" or thinking for the nations. I had already been thinking about this since I was a little kid and it was conflicting within myself besides others are looking negatively at me. I had suffered alone for this and still am suffering. The feeling of suffer is like a metal being burnt in the stove. It begins with the "heart".

Errors of Secular Scholars

A genuine scholar must have the confidence on not being confident. Ready to accept changes and re-evaluate what has been held as his belief after receiving new explanations. This is how science that we see in modern world evolve and we are tracing its historical tracks. Firmly holding a theory or approach for example this is sour or that is stale is a biggest mistake for scholars and scientists. It is as equally wrong with what has happened to clergy men in understanding the evidence in its literal sense!

The error of scholars, academicians and scientists would be even bigger if they thought that scientific research is the only way to reach the truth and fact. It is true that scientific and fact research is a tool to achieve or to be closer to the truth. However it is only a tool among tools. Not the only tool that exist!

I am having issues with these kind of people. They believe in only one approach and hold firm with it. Thus they are creating dogma without realizing it. What is the difference between them and the bigots in other groups of man-kind if this happen?

Physics for example could investigate and provide facts for things which are moving in the universe. However it is not applicable anymore when it comes to things beyond the universe. A wider way of thinking is not only limited to physics. It is goes beyond physics. The metaphysics.

This is what we call as metaphysical matters. They could check the phenomenon such as light and provide everything related to light what about thing which is beyond the light? Their research and questions would stop when it reaches it limit. Science could not reaching the Creator of the Universe or things beyond physical eyes. That is why we could see in American movies, they are trying to make everything scientific and to show that everything could be researched they begin to create stuffs such as aliens, superman, and other imaginary characters within the universe. They might perhaps talking about myth of deities in Greek mythologies or Hindu god pantheon as totally absurd from primitive people imagination. But what is the difference between them and those ancient people that they claim as primitive? The prophets, sages and philosophers of ancient time were talking about metaphysical stuffs. Of course they have no degree nor going to school or not graduated from universities with today's academic system and curriculum.

Tools in Search of the Truth

Science is useful to reach what is material. But science has no strength and limited only to materials. Outside of material boundaries they could not reach it. Collections of evidences, results of researches, results of experiments, contemplation and observation, analysis and mental tools are for us man-kind to reach the truth. There are also other tools and ways to reach facts and truth which is not mentioned here.

Try to see how many people could disagree that artists, poets, philosophers, musicians or singers could also provide the way for others to be closer to the truth? Who would disagree that these an artist could send others into the secret of the universe merely with "senses" and not with forced thoughts. Senses and feelings which had rise in their soul were presented into humanity in the form of art works which could touch the discreet sentiment of others deeper than any other scientific research to develop something which took scientists and the so-called scholars in universities or research centers hundred of years conducting researches and experiments.

The real truth is beautiful and beauty is the truth. This is the fact which is agreed by everyone. It is wrong for us to think that the way to achieve the truth is merely with science. Behold that art is from divine inspiration, pure soul and an open mind. This way is also the right and clear way as clear as science.

If the role of artists as the seekers of truth could be recognized by everyone, why not the role of prophets and sages who received divine inspiration and revelation from the God? Why not the genuine religious philosophers are not recognized for their contributions in musing the secret of universe? We would certainly never forget the contributions of religion and spirituality in developing the realm of humanity. Revelation and divine inspirations are among the main ways for man-kind to reach the truth. If with science, we are climbing up above to find the truth. But with revelation and divine inspirations, the truth is descending upon man-kind. It would be marvelously beautiful if both of these are in reconciliation and the pure happiness would be achieved  by everyone.

Conclusion of the Sub-Topic

People could accuse that there are fake prophets, fake imams, fake sheikhs and there are also fake religious philosophers which is known as sufis who sold spiritual matters for worldly fame. But we could also not disagree that there are fake artists, fake poets and scholars who only looking for material benefits.

Other than that. I personally disagree with some quotes from Harun Yahya, Ahmad Deedat, Zakir Naik or other Sheikhs' books or lectures by the public. Before we read the thoughts of a person, to agree or to disagree with them. We get to know them first what is their background and how they had gone through their life to form their worldview. These figures talk about different things but still the central of their argument is to bring people toward Islam through components of science and countering theories such as Darwinism or other accusations by Christian missionaries to Islam.

I agree in term of telling people about Islam, stating our views and spreading the word of Allah across the Universe. But I disagree in attacking other religious faith and belief because that is the way those Christian missionaries in Western European colonial lands did. That is also the way of scholars who religiously believe in their theories or the theories which are in accordance to their inclination. Those who quote these figures I know that they never gone through the torturing path of questioning and getting to know their selves. Go through it, then tell everyone how it feels. Just walk in the moderate middle path and this is an advise for everyone including myself.

Prayers

May Allah lead us with His guidance and may the ruhul qudus shine upon us. Sanctify our soul ya Allah with Your mercy, forgiveness and eternal love. May we live under Your reign and blessed with Your Great Kingdom.

History Lesson 1 : Discovering the Past

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah

Introduction

Some people might found that history is a boring stuff and it is a good tool to make those who experience insomnia to sleep earlier. Some people love history and some even incorporate it as apart of their so-called conspiracy theories and later being disillusioned because their basis of understanding and knowledge is only half of it.

So, what is history dear beloved brothers and sisters? In it's broadest sense, it is the story of people. It is the study of our past. Some parts of this side also talking about history and recording some part of history. In religious studies branches of study, we also have seerah or taarikh which deals with our chronicles and the history of our noble prophets.

Some historians might be looking at important events such as wars, revolutions and governments while others are interested in ordinary people's lives. Henry Ford, who is an American car manufacturer said that history is bunk. Most people would also disagree with him.

Our lives today are shaped by decisions and actions made decades, centuries or even thousands of years ago. Through the understanding of the past, we may even get a more balanced view of the present.

Goals of History

Basic aims of history are to record and explain our past. Whatever happens to me or to brothers and sisters who happened to pass by here is history. Historians study a wide range of oral and written evidence. Some are combined with archeology where later they may interpret the facts or data to build up a picture of the past.

Beginning of the Study

The first people according to Westerners who study history seriously were the ancient Greeks. Around 5th BC, Herodotus set out to write a true and systematic record of the wars between the Greeks and Persians. He hoped to preserve the memory of past events and show how two peoples came into conflict with one another.

The scientific study of archeology only began in the 18th century. Archeologists today investigate even the tiniest fragments left behind by ancient people to create a more complete picture of the past.

Closing

History is not just concerned with the distant past. It is the story of our lives. What is new today will be turning to be history tomorrow. Change can be sudden or dramatic, and long held ideas will be overturned tomorrow.

Heart Perfection of Transcendent Wisdom

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah

 Ouyang Xun 635: Tang Dynasty

Zhao Mengfu 1254-1322: Yuan Dynasty

This one has nothing to do with Islamic teachings. It's simple name is only Heart Sutra. It is lord Buddha's teaching to his disciple, Shariputra. I just found that the calligraphy is very nice but I did not have time to practice calligraphy. I tried to translate few wisdom from Imam Shafi'ie rahimahullah as well as other Imams in Chinese. It's only for my personal use and a tribute to all Imams. Just think that it would be beneficial in the future.

What is Heart Sutra?

It is a discourse of lord Buddha Gautama with his disciple known as Brahman Shariputra. In this sense I talk about lord Buddha as a teacher or guru among teachers, a historical figure and not some kind of golden idol as what would be understood by some brothers or sisters. It talks about the experience of liberation of the the enlightened being of compassion known as the lord who looks down resulted from the insight gained while engaged in deep meditation to awake the faculty of wisdom. This insight refers to basic emptiness of all phenomena, five senses of human existence known as panchaskandha

Panchaskandha are............................

1. Rupa - form
2. Vedanaa - feeling
3. Samskara - volitions
4. Sammjhna - perceptions
5. Vignyaana - consciousness

This is my experience as a Buddhist boy. I learned to shut all of perceptions through this Sutra when I encounter something which I do not know or never experienced. It is also influencing me until today and I do not know whether it is sinful or not because it is not easy for a revert to totally forget previous experience. I am also afraid if my faith is not really a faith because the God would surely condemn me into the torments. I am already tormented in the world and I wish the hereafter would be peaceful abode for me. I only regard lord Buddha as a teacher when I revert to Islam by heart but I do not come to the extent of regarding him as a prophet or messenger of the God because it is never mentioned in the Glorious Quran and Sunnah. This sutra taught everyone to avoid speculation so I do not really like to speculate.

The volitions refer to what we badly want or desired. It teaches to leave everything behind or release desires because it causes us pain in term of psychological. My ex-colleague, Amir also told me about psychological problem would lead to physical health being deteriorated because he also experienced that. Yesterday, I talked with him through text messages while silently tears flowing down my eyes in the library researching for thesis. He told me to create something nice in my mind if I feel annoyed. Create anything that would make us happy even if we have no nice experience and stop looking at what we do not like or makes us suffocate.

It suddenly brought me to the memory of reciting this sutra. I began to think that what I am trapped now is related to volitions which causes me pain. However, as a Muslim we must also remember the God is with us and that His divine pre-destiny is apart of His wisdom. We must be confidence in His sudden assistance and pray to Him without feeling tired of His Mercy. Perhaps this sutra is a precaution to avoid from pain. I would elaborate it longer until the Aryasthanga Marg (Noble Path) and Chattwari Ariyasattiyani (Four Noble Truths) if I linger more in this topic, hehehe. So, this is some general knowledge for fellow brothers and sisters in faith. May the God bless my brothers and sisters in faith and in humanity.

Sealed with prayers for mercy, peace, and love, amin!

Strawberry Swing

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullah

Good morning, sabah al-khayr... ahahaha... I'm trying to develop poetry skill like others but I think I just know how to copy others' works. I love to listen to Coldplay and watching music videos when I was a young teenage... I didn't really like watching American MV played at the TV because some of those hip hop MV portray women as objects of selves satisfaction.

I am now an Orthodox Muslim but I still remain the same honoring women as people who plays important roles in society. Women are not sex toys nor slaves to be displayed like a prostitute. Even we respect prostitutes as human-being who deserve every rights to be respected in the society. Women are scholars, teachers, leaders with different functions and balancing the universe. They should be respected, not to be degraded as sex objects like what had been portrayed in hatred websites and medias especially in the West.

I remember one of my colleague, Amir also love to listen to English songs but his genre of music is more to metal styles... I don't care about genre or whatever it is. I listen to lyrics and not the kind of musics...  Usually I love plain things... I don't really like anything which is special : )

Lets...

They were sitting... They were sitting in the strawberry swing...
And every moment was so precious...
They were sitting... They were talking in the strawberry swing...
And everybody was for fighting, wouldn't wanna waste a thing...

Cold... Cold water bring me 'round'
Now my feet won't touch the ground...
Cold... cold water... What you say?
It's such a perfect day... It's such a perfect day...

I remember we were talking to strawberry swing...
I can't wait till morning... Wouldn't wanna change a thing...
People moving all the time inside a perfect straight line...
Don't you wanna curve away?
It's such a perfect day... It's such a perfect day...

Now the sky could be blue... I don't mind...
Without you... It's a waste of time...
Could be blue... I don't mind...
Without you, it's a waste of time...

The sky could be blue, could be gray...
Without you, I just slide away...
The sky could be blue... I don't mind...
Without you... It's a waste of time...

- Coldplay

Quite abstract lyrics... I don't know what the composer has in his mind while composing the lyrics but I think this general song could be interpreted by everyone according to their own way and events that happened in their life. I'm encouraging British Muslims and those in Europe specially migrant ones working with English and British Isle culture (or Europeans' culture). You have huge responsibility to find the way in term of wisdom... Not to Arabize, Wahhabicize or Pakistanize people but showing the way how to make everyone's life compatible to "the nature" and foremost teach everyone that every creature of the God are equal before Him, but wisdom, patience, morality and noble life leads to the Mercy and Love of the God : )
